You can choose a picture to represent you by clicking on ‘edit your personal details' on your profile page.
Searching for other members
You can search for members on the site in a variety of ways from the 'Members' page
- By Newest/Oldest in the drop-down menu (displayed alphabetically)
- By username using the search box or drop-down menu (displayed alphabetically)
- By Men Only/Women Only in the drop-down menu (displayed alphabetically)
Adding Friends
You can add someone as a friend by clicking on the icon next to their photo (or avatar is they haven't uploaded a photo) and username in the Members area, or by clicking ‘Add Friend' on their profile page. This will send them a message asking them to approve the "friendship". Once they have approved you as a friend you will receive a confirmation message and the friend will appear in your Friends page.
When you receive a friend request from another member, you will receive a message in your inbox. Here you can choose to 'Add' or 'Reject' the friend request. You may also be asked whether you want to 'Add and receive email notifications' about a friend. This option means a friend has chosen to share one of more of their goals with you. If you choose this you will receive updates about your friend's goal progress within your 'Weekly Times Health Club' email.
Messages
Your message area is a great way to keep in contact with your fellow Times Health Club community members. If you have added friends you can easily compose a message to them by choosing the person's name from the drop-down box next to the 'Send a Message' button. Enter your subject and message and click the 'Send Message' button to send your email.
The recipient will receive the message in their Inbox. Received messages are shown in the Your Messages box on your profile page and also by clicking 'Inbox' in the top navigation bar.
You can also view any Sent messages by clicking on 'View all messages' on your profile page or by clicking the 'Inbox' button in the top navigation bar.
Your blog
A blog is a way for you to record your progress, so that you and your friends can keep track of how you are doing. Friends can post comments on your blog, offering you tips and motivation. You could use your blog as a food diary, exercise diary, or simply a record of how you are feeling that day. People often find that it can be very motivating to record their progress in this way.
To create a blog click on 'New Post' from the Blog area of your profile page. From here you can add a title, upload an image and start typing your entry. When you are finished click 'Post Blog'.
You can access your blog from your profile page and from the ‘Blog' tab in the top navigation bar.
Blog privacy settings
For each post you write you can choose whether all members or just friends will be able to view it. You can also choose whether you want other members to be able to make comments.
